Fragata DON FERNANDO II E GLÒRIA, Lisbon

The Frigate DON FERNANDO II E GLÒRIA was launched on 22 October 1843. After the end of her active life she was used to house a sail training school for boys.
While serving in that function a fire almost razed her to the water line in 1963. Subsequently, she was restored as national monument. After many more years afloat again, she may now have found her final berth in Dock No. 2 of the former Parry & Son shipyard, in Cacilhas on the bank of the River Tejo opposite of Lisbon.
